History and Mission

Founded in 1937, The Sussex Gardeners is one of the oldest garden clubs in the U.S.! It is a member of the Federation of Garden Clubs and part of The National Garden Clubs, Inc., Central Atlantic Region. Its mission is to bring together members of the community who have an interest in the fine art of gardening, landscape design, floral design and horticulture. Its community outreach includes programs in garden therapy, conservation and civic beautification.

The current fifty active members meet each third Thursday of the month September through June at All Saints Episcopal Church in Rehoboth Beach. Meetings include programs of interest to the group by guest presenters and are free and open to the public.
